THE MISERABLE CONDITION OF ROADS AND INFRASTRUCTURE IN LUMDING

PWD means Public Works Department.

Lumding is a small town situated in the Nagaon districts of Assam. But, surprisingly Lumding subdivision of PWD is under the Maibang division, which doesn't make any sense.

All the photographs of Lumding Railway H S School in this post have been snapped by Tridib Choudhury of Nadirpar. He was one of my students from Lumding, considering that this was his first photographic spell, the photographs were quite encouraging.

AFTER A BRIEF SHOWER

The day before

  

That day I couldn't sleep at all. Next day, my wife would have to be on the operation table to give birth our son Subhangam as the third member of our own universe. I was very restless, on the clock it was ten past 4 O'clock and the skyline of Assam and Northeast India became clear as the dawn breaks in. After a spell of heavy rainfall, it was just drizzling and the weather was perfect to have a quick stroll around. Amazingly, I have found several flowers in our garden trying to keep droplets of water on their petals. I immediately brought out my wife's mobile and tried to catch the scene digitally.

	লামডিং  কালীবাড়ি; সাথে হিন্দু মিলন মন্দির । যখন আমি স্কুলে পড়তাম সবাই মিলে  প্রায় সময়েই কালীবাড়ি ঘুরতে আসতাম । এখনো সেইদিন গুলির কথা খুব মনে পরে । পুচকো, আমি আর আমাদের ক্লাসের আরো তিন চারজন মিলে একসময় কালীবাড়ির আশেপাশে খুব আড্ডা মারতাম । সেই দিনগুলির কথা এখনো মনে আছে ।
জায়গা টা আমাদের বাড়ির পাশেই । বি এম বি স্কুলের সামনে যে রাস্তাটি লেভেল ক্রসিং এর দিকে যাই সেই রাস্তাটির ফটো । পাশ দিয়ে জন শতাব্দী ট্রেন যাচ্ছে । আর আকাশে চলছে মেঘ আর সূর্যর লুকোচুরি খেলা ।
	রেলপথে লামডিং যাওয়ার পথে এক দৃশ্য । এক ঝিলের ধারে একজন মানুষ হাথ পা ধুচ্ছেন আর অন্যদিকে গরু একমনে ঘাস খেয়ে চলছে । সবুজে ভরা এক মনোরম  দৃশ্য । ছবিটাকে না তুলে থাকতে পারলাম না ।
লালে ভরে গেছে আমাদের বাড়ির বাগান । আমি তখন বাড়িতে গরমের ছুটিতে বেড়াতে গেছি । এতো দারুন লাগছিলো দেখতে, তাড়াতাড়ি ছবিটাকে তুলে নিলাম ।

  a flying pigeon in our home in Lumding একটা কবুতর দানা খাচ্ছিল গোদাম ঘরের সামনে । যেইনা কেমেরা অন করে সামনে যাওয়ার চেষ্টা করলাম, পাখি দিল এক উড়ান । আর কেমেরা ছবিটাকে কয়েদ করে নিল ।
